Quilt Contest
As part of the 125th Anniversary of the Historic Hartland Covered Bridge, our community is invited to take part in a special quilt contest celebrating generations of quilting and creativity.
This contest is held in honour of Elizabeth Lunnie and her Quilting Corner, recognizing the long‑standing tradition of quilting in our region.
Quilters are invited to submit their quilts for a chance to be selected as one of ten quilts to be displayed at the New Brunswick Day Covered Bridge Market. The selected quilts will be showcased under a supervised tent and viewed by members of the public.
A Viewer’s Choice vote will take place during the event, with one quilt receiving an honorary award.
Event Details
- Location: New Brunswick Day Covered Bridge Market
- Display Time: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Viewer’s Choice Results: Announced at 3:00 pm
- Quilts must be brought to the event and available for display during this time
Submission Details
- Quilters may submit more than one quilt
- Only ten quilts will be selected by a quilt committee for display and judging
- Quilts must be suitable for public display
How to Enter
To enter your quilt, email vivleblanc65@gmail.com with the following information:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Description of the quilt
- Whether the quilt is domestic machine quilted or hand quilted
- Quilt pattern
- Approximate number of hours to complete
- Appliqué or pieced
- Confirmation that a label is attached
- History behind making the quilt
Your submission must also include three photos:
- A clear photo of the full quilt
- A close‑up of an individual square or block
- A photo of the label
Clear photos showing the stitching are important for the selection process.
