Work has started on our new arena: the Central Carleton Community Complex will be a multi-purpose, year-round hub for exercise, sports, social and cultural activities. More than an arena, it will be fully accessible and feature a walking track, multipurpose room, canteen, exercise room and more.
Watch it grow: August 2022 September October November Winter 2022-23 - While the foundation is in hibernation, the structure is being fabricated at the factory. Check out these excellent aerial photos by Sipprell's Aerial Imaging, reposted on the CCCC Facebook page! |
What's the plan?
In April 2022, the Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments (including what at that time were the LSDs of Coldstream, Somerville and Brighton) announced combined funding of more than 8.9 million to build the new arena and recreation space. And there's always room for more: between inflationary and supply chain pressure, base costs have risen. Possibilities and opportunities for improving the plan with additional features and programs are a great way you can contribute to this once-in-a-generation project. Ideas are welcome - use our "Compliments and Concerns" link! Drawings here.
